When I am asked to make hotel reservations for my clients there are always several questions that need to be answered,  such as the your budget, and what is the best location for you? 6 August, 2009 – Cunard Line and Julien’s Auctions are partnering once again – to present an exclusive preview from The Collection of Barbra Streisand – onboard flagship Queen Mary 2’s Transatlantic Crossing to England departing New York 23 August, before they are sold at auction live and online at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on 17 and 18 October, 2009. All proceeds from the auction will benefit The Streisand Foundation, founded more than two decades ago by the famed actress-singer-director-composer-activist-philanthropist, to aid humanitarian causes worldwide.

During the Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic voyage, Darren Julien, President, and Martin Nolan, Executive Director, of Julien’s Auctions will be joined by Marty Erlichman, Streisand’s long-time manager, to present an exclusive inside look at the auction and the prolific career of the famed entertainer through the line’s acclaimed onboard enrichment programme, Cunard Insights.

After Queen Mary 2 arrives in Southampton, the auction highlights will then be exhibited at The Museum of Style Icons in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. From Ireland, the highlights will travel to Beverly Hills where a full public exhibition will be presented.

Julien’s Auctions will offer more than 400 lots from Barbra Streisand’s stunning personal collection, including fine and decorative art, Americana furnishings, Art Deco fixtures, oriental rugs, Native American baskets, and the international star’s personal Yamaha Baby Grand Piano, along with timeless movie memorabilia and costumes from her numerous film, television, live concert and special personal appearances. Clothing highlights include costumes and outfits from “The Way We Were,” “Funny Lady,” “On a Clear Day,” “Yentl,” “Nuts,” “Prince of Tides” and “Meet The Fockers,” as well as custom Donna Karan and other designer pieces, including two vintage Christian Dior fashions.

Crystal Cruise Lines Issue Consumer Fraud Alert

Please Read: Important Information Regarding Fraud Alert

It has come to the attention of Crystal Cruises that fraudulent checks are being issued to various individuals throughout the United States either randomly via mail or through other means including popular Internet websites featuring job postings, Mystery Shopper programs, Sweepstakes/Draw Winner and payment for items being sold. We do NOT believe that any of our customer personal information was used to generate these checks.

These checks look identical to, but are not, Crystal Cruises’ corporate checks. These are NOT legitimate checks and this is NOT a Crystal Cruises’ promotion. This is an illegal check scam.

The “check scam” is as follows:

1) The perpetrators advise the recipient to cash the alleged Crystal Cruises’ check. (Note: They even explain the check is from a “financial sponsor” to try and assure the recipient that it is legitimate).
2) They then ask the recipient to deposit or send the same amount of money to a third party via Western Union under the guise of a Secret Shopper program (Note: at this time we do not have definitive information as to where the money is being sent).

Again, this is NOT a Crystal Cruises’ promotion and we ask for your help in communicating this fraudulent check scam to others. If you have received one of these checks, do not cash or deposit it. These checks did not originate with Crystal Cruises.

Crystal Cruises has notified and is working with the appropriate authorities to investigate this matter. In order to provide the authorities with the additional information necessary to apprehend and prosecute the criminals behind this fraud, we ask that if you do receive a check, or have any information regarding this scam, please email us at fraudalert@crystalcruises.com or fax to 1-310-277-8150 or call 1-310-785-9300 and ask to speak to our Fraud Alert Department.

We appreciate your cooperation in this very serious matter.
